I am glad to support Rob Willey in his candidacy for the Eden Prairie School Board. I have known Rob for nearly 10 years. He hired me at Best Buy and was my boss for 4 years. We remain good friends today.

Rob possesses several characteristics that would make him an effective school board member. First and foremost, Rob is a good father who understands the important role parents and teachers play in educating our children. I have observed Rob, in both work and family situations emphasize the importance of education and lifetime learning. He and his wife Jennifer have modeled this by supporting each other while acquiring advanced degrees. Beyond academics, they have also provided opportunities for their children to explore athletics, dance and other developmental activities.

Rob also has excellent problem solving skills and always approaches issues in a fact-based manner. He always seeks to understand issues before drawing conclusions and taking action. This leads to sound decision making and ultimately better outcomes. Given the complexity of decisions school boards encounter, I believe this would be a vital attribute for its leaders.
Having worked with Rob in a team oriented environment at Best Buy, I think he would work effectively with other school board members. Rob develops and offers his point of view while listening to and valuing what others contribute. He is focused on driving practical outcomes rather than advancing his own agenda. I have always found him to be collaborative while significantly contributing to a team's success.

I recommend Rob for the Eden Prairie School Board. He will help make an already strong school district even better.
